I cannot recommend highly enough this incredible Himalaya guiding business. It is run by a family born and bred in the Everest region and they give 100% bespoke guidance ,assistance ,taking huge care of their clients before during and after the trip in the most humble constructive and helpful way. They have taken my daughter on two high altitude climbing trips, one of my business partners up Everest ,Nima has stood on the summit of Everest eight times by way of reference and now have taken myself and one of my business partners on a two week guided trek to the Khumbo Valley with time in Katmandu. 100% safe, appropriate and would not dream of putting ourselves in the hands of anyone else. They are Katmandu based It is a very personal service It does not have the huge backup, slickness and eventual cost of the Big commercial organisations and so much for the better … The ultimate in local knowledge. Book with confidence

Unforgettable experience. Utterly brilliant from start to finish. Nima and Tsering could not have been kinder, more considerate, more patient nor better organised. Not a second’s hesitation in recommending them. Absolute quality!

SKA did a remarkable job managing the logistics of our trek. Before we even set out, a few unexpected challenges arose. I came down with a severe case of food poisoning that nearly derailed the trip entirely. Fortunately, I recovered quickly, and we were able to depart just a day later than planned. Our journey was the Pikey Peak Trek, a moderate-to-easy route beginning from Dhap. The plan was to travel from Kathmandu to Dhap in a single day — roughly a nine-hour drive. However, as we approached the main highway, we encountered a significant delay due to a major landslide. With the growing impact of climate change, such events are becoming increasingly common during times of year when they would not typically occur. Heavy rainfall over our first three days in Kathmandu (late October to early November) had triggered this particular slide. The detour added an extra three hours to our trip, bringing the total drive to twelve hours. We pressed on along rough backroads, and our driver navigated them impressively — even as we encountered several smaller landslides along the way. As dusk approached and visibility diminished, my father-in-law and I began to feel uneasy. We were climbing steep ridges with no guardrails, roadside reflectors, or light. While our Sherpa was eager to continue, we ultimately insisted on stopping at the next town to rest, given the clear safety risks. In hindsight, it would have been preferable for the company to have raised these concerns proactively, but we were grateful to find accommodation and a hot meal after a long day’s journey. The next morning, we continued to Dhap without issue, enjoying much-improved visibility and calmer nerves. Once we began our trek, the first day was rainy and misty, but afterward, the weather turned spectacular. On our second morning, we woke to breathtaking views of Mount Everest and its neighboring peaks. Our Sherpa and porter were wonderful company and even joined in playing Pass the Pigs, which we had brought along. Our morning at Pikey Peak was simply unforgettable — the sunrise from the summit was mesmerizing and made every step worthwhile. Tsering, the owner of SKA, had personally recommended this route, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. The remainder of the trek was equally enjoyable. We had perfect weather and a particularly memorable stay in Junbesi, where we spent two nights at a charming teahouse run by kind and hospitable hosts. Visiting the nearby monastery was a cultural highlight and added a meaningful spiritual dimension to the journey. For the final leg, we trekked to Phaplu, home to the airstrip. We spent one night there, though we had to change teahouses due to hygiene concerns at our original lodging. This was a bit disappointing, especially given the cost of the trek, as the better option was conveniently located right across the street. To his credit, our Sherpa was understanding and immediately helped us move, albeit with a touch of embarrassment. We flew out the following morning, enjoying magnificent aerial views of the Himalayas. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the trek. SKA handled the logistics admirably, especially in light of the unpredictable terrain and changing conditions. We would wholeheartedly recommend SKA to anyone considering a Himalayan adventure. However, we suggest clearly communicating your expectations around driving conditions and accommodation standards to ensure a smooth experience. Thank you, Team SKA! We hope to return soon for another unforgettable journey

I would recommend SKA Adventures to everyone planning a trek to Nepal!!! We did the Langtang Valley trek with SKA Adventures in Fall 2025 and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Our organizer, Tsering, was amazing — so organized, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about our experience. He made sure we were well-prepared with clear itineraries, packing tips, pre-departure gear checks and great communication throughout. Our guides were fantastic — friendly, attentive, and professional. The porters were equally amazing: strong, cheerful, and so kind. What really stood out was how everyone on the team was treated as equals. There was no hierarchy — just a group of people working together with heart and respect. When a monsoon hit during our trek, the team handled it with complete professionalism, putting safety first and quickly adjusting our plans without ever losing their positivity. This company truly values people and integrity, and it shows in everything they do. We finished the trek not just with great memories, but with friends for life. I highly recommend SKA Adventures!

We had an incredible experience with the team at SKA, and couldn't have been more satisfied with our LANGTANG VALLEY TREK experience. We were so well supported and looked after throughout every part of the trek, in addition to our time in Kathmandu. We are very grateful to the team: Tsering & Nima, our amazing guides Bil & Durjee, and of course our friends/porters Amrit & Robin. In addition to being extremely well organized and competent, their confidence and support made all the challenges of travel and high altitude trekking feel completely doable and enjoyable! It was a beautiful adventure. I would choose SKA again & again to explore the different trekking routes in Nepal.
